David Howard is an experienced rail business analyst and economist with 14 years working in the UK rail sector as an employee or consultant. He joined Network SouthEast in 1992 as a business analyst working on business modelling, demand forecasting and Travelcard revenue allocation. In 1994, David moved to South Eastern as Business Analysis Manager responsible for all demand and revenue forecasting and pricing strategy. In 1997, he joined specialist rail consultants, Transport Strategies as Principal Consultant where he worked with OPRAF, several TOCs and ATOC on a number of revenue and pricing projects. In 2001, he formed his own consultancy company, Line by Line, where he has continued to work with TOCs and ATOC, along with providing revenue advice to bid teams for rail franchises. David's specialist skills include demand forecasting, revenue allocation (especially, the London Travelcard), pricing strategy and statistical analysis. David has a BA (Hons) in Economics and Geography and a Masters degree in Transport. He is also an Associate Member of the rail industry Passenger Demand Forecasting Council and a member of Independent Rail Consultancy Group (IRCG).
