Peter worked for 8 years in BR where he gained a great deal of experience both on the operational side of railways and later in train planning. Since entering transport consultancy in 1989 Peter has gained substantial experience in transportation planning, railway and public transport operations and demand forecasting. Railway projects that Peter has worked on include Channel Tunnel, various station capacity studies, providing operational advice for several route modernisations and work in connection with TOC franchise bids. He has also worked on assignments for several banks providing computing and programming expertise. Among Peter's current projects he is the Secretary for the North Orbital Rail Partnership which is a TfL Partnership focussing on the London Overground lines. The Partnership coordinates the station upgrades which TfL London Rail is undertaking with improvements to access outside the stations that the London Boroughs are implementing.
A member of both the Institute of Railway Operators and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Peter runs his own successful consultancy business, Peter Staveley Consulting Ltd. Peter is also a member of Independent Rail Consultancy Group (IRCG).
