Ray is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with wide knowledge and solid experience gained from a background of forty three years within the Railway Industry. During his thirty six years with British Rail within the Mechanical and Electrical field he was involved with management of traction and rolling stock, overhead-line electrification, freightliner terminals, road vehicles and railway plant engineering. The last twelve years he has been operating as an independent consultant under his company name of RAYLMEK Limited, during this time he has worked on the provision of technical and engineering advice on new and existing traction and rolling stock, maintenance processes and servicing depots, also drafting bid texts for the rolling stock section of the bid documents for clients bidding for franchise train services for a varied selection of clients. These have included Manufacturer of Rolling Stock, Network Rail, EWS, TOC's, and with a Petro-Chemical utilities and site operator; these have been both within Britain and Internationally.

Ray Kramer has experience of working many years working with British Rail in the United Kingdom British Rail, post privatisation TOC and Franchise Bidders and UK Private Rail Freight. Ray also runs his own rail consultancy, RAYLMEK. Ray is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and Permenant Way Institute, as well as a member of the Independent Rail Consultancy Group (IRCG).
